In this section I suggest eight areas to consider in planning for ourselves and our families in regard to the end of life.

Advance Directives – Medical

To insure that loved ones know how to honor your wishes for end of life care. create an Advance medical directive. In the event that unable to communicate both family and medical professional will be able to fow through on your desires.

Last Will and Testament

A legally executed, clearly worded last will assures the distribution of assets and guardianship of dependents according to your wishes.

Giving – Donations and Charity

In making charitable bequests in support of causes close to your heart. both your spirit and name may continue to live on.

Living Gifts- Organ donation

If you believe in organ donation give the miracle of life, Declare your wishes by contacting an organ donation organization and signing a donor card.

Spirituality

Consider your spiritual values the meaning of spirituality in your life. Seek closure by confronting fears and concerns,

Make Peace

Address outstanding issues with family and friends. Try to settle outstanding emotional business so you can move forward unencumbered.


Final resting place

Burial or cremations are common final choices. How do you want your mortal remains handled? Will you make final arrangements or choose someone

you trust to make choices for you

Ethical Wills

Consider passing on your beliefs and philosophy in a written testament to be shared with loved ones and future generations. This may become a part of a memorial service.

Gatherings – Memorials

There are a variety of ways families and friends may come together to say goodbye and pay respects. Funerals, wakes viewings and Shiva visits fall into this category. What would you prefer?
