This blog is an extension of my Design and Technology studies at Parsons the Newschool for Design. My master’s thesis concept uses four elements to look at baby boomers and death: a sculptural dedication, an artist’s book, a journal documenting interview material and a blog. All fit within the contemporary expanded definition of a book. This definition does not confine the book as a communication tool to the familiar paged format. It is a narrative format telling stories in paged, digital and dimensional formats, using any element of the traditional book.

As a personal statement in visual form, all images are built around first person interviews with baby boomers. This project was inspired by my struggle to resolve feelings and come to terms with the death of my parents. It can be considered a form of making art as mourning. I hope to inspire others to discover comfortable supportive path though difficult times to reach personal acceptance.
